Thankfully the process to getting TTC Intermediate certified is not that difficult. However it will take require two days and you will need pass FDOT TTC Intermediate Exam. Don’t worry we have you covered here.

TTC is needed to ensure both workers and the public can work in or travel through temporary work zones without getting injured.
Effective TTC involves planning, design, supervision, implementation and maintenance of various work zone traffic control devices.
In order to accomplish this, properly trained and competent workers are needed.
While this is a basic it can be easy to forget that everyone has different levels of experience and knowledge. As a there can be new faces on a jobsite. Plus there are those we may work around that may not always have a safety first mentality. This course helps provide a
FDOT TTC Intermediate Criteria
At the moment there are no prerequisites for your FDOT TTC Intermediate training & certificate. Other then taking training from an approved provider like myTTConline and passing the exam with a 70% or more grade.
Referring back to the FDOT TTC Admin site the TTC Intermediate training is required for the following:
Intermediate– This course is required for personnel with duties that include any of the following activities:
-Personnel responsible for supervising the installation, removal and field maintenance of TTC devices, excluding temporary barriers, end treatments and crash cushions
-Inspection of the placement or operational function of temporary traffic control devices, excluding temporary barriers, end treatments and crash cushions
How To Get Your FDOT TTC Intermediate Certificate
Now lets look at the steps to get your TTC Intermediate Training & Certificate.
Time needed: 15 minutes
- Find A State Approved TTC Provider
myTTConline is a State Approved Provider but more can be found on the TTC Admin website
- View the Providers Training Schedule & Register

- Take the FDOT TTC Intermediate Training and Exam
The Exam is held at the end of day 2 of the training
- Get your Certificate Online
You will be notified via email your score and login credentials. If it is 70% or higher you will be able to download your certificate from the TTC Admin website. Click here for more details
- TTC Intermediate Certificate Renewal
Your certificate is good for 4 years and you are required to take a TTC Intermediate Refresher course before the expiration date to keep it valid.

There are 50 questions on the TTC Intermediate Exam
We submit your exam the day of the Exam to the FDOT TTC Administrator. Exams may take up to 2 weeks to process.
you must score a 70% or higher on your exam to qualify for your certificate.

If by chance you don’t get a 70% or higher, you will need to retake the exam. The FDOT does not permit providers of TTC training to offer the class in any language other than English. You may ask why? The answer is that the 600 series design standards, which are essentially the backbone of the entire MOT process are written in English and require a person who can fluently speak and read English.
