FDOT TTC Certification training consists of 3 levels of instruction. These include Basic (Flagger), Intermediate and Advanced. myTTConline focusses on instruction of all levels of FDOT Temporary Traffic Control Training course.
All intermediate and Advanced Certified personnel can train their own flaggers. Contact myTTConline, and we can provide you with training material.
FDOT requires everyone to be certified if they are working on any state road facility.
Moreover, many Florida counties and municipalities also mandate this certification. If you’re involved in creating or executing a traffic control plan, certification in either FDOT TTC Advanced or Intermediate Training is essential. These certifications are also commonly referred to as Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) certifications.
Industries or jobs that may require this certification include the following:
Temporary Traffic Control Intermediate Certification training is a 16hr training. Including Instructor training, workshopping and exam time.Â
Required for Personnel who:
Supervise the placement or field maintenance of temporary traffic control devices, excluding temporary barriers.

FDOT does not permit providers of MOTÂ training to offer the class in any language other than English.
Â
You may ask why?
Â
The answer is that the 600 series design standards, which are essentially the backbone of the entire MOT process are written in English and require a person who can fluently speak and read English.
FDOT changed the terminology from Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) to Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) a few years ago.
This training can be referred by either MOT or TTC as they are the same thing.
If your new to this training you may wonder what training level you need to take.
Â
If you are not in charge of the traffic control zone and not working with barriers or crash cushions, the Intermediate training will be sufficient.
Â
If you are in charge of the traffic control zone (Worksite Supervisor), work with barriers or crash cushions and or do are a Professional Engineer you will need the Advanced.
Â
If you are ONLY flagging and not doing of the set up or take down you take the Basic (Flagger) training. We recommend taking the Intermediate.
